Numbers
There are three schools of thought, each based on the total number of fingers a race has.
Elf; base 12. Human; base 10. Dwarf; base 8.
All can easily be divided in half but Humans encounter a problem when dividing in half again.
Elf; 12 / 6 / 3. Human; 10 / 5 / 2.5. Dwarf; 8 / 4 / 2.
The advantage Humans have is in working with large multiples of their base number.
Elf; 12x12 = 144 x12 =1728. Human; 10x10 =100 x10 =1000. Dwarf; 8x8 = 64 x8 = 512.
